Who we are
Boat Safety Hub is run by Towpath Digital Ltd (company number 16913912, registered in England and Wales). Towpath Digital Ltd is the controller of the personal data described here. Contact: [email protected].
If you visit the site
You don't need an account and there are no forms. The site sets no cookies and runs no analytics or advertising scripts. Like every website, the servers that deliver it keep short-term logs (your IP address, the page asked for and the time) to keep the site running and secure.
If you email us
We keep your email and our reply so we can deal with what you asked. We use it for nothing else, and we delete it within two years unless we still need it to answer you.
If you're a BSS examiner
- What we show: your name or business name, the counties you cover, your phone number and website, as shown on the official BSS examiner register.
- Where it comes from: the register, which is public. We note the date we checked it.
- Why: so boat owners can find an examiner. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests: the information is already public for the same purpose, and we only show what the register shows.
- How long: while you're on the register. If you leave it, we take the listing down and delete what we hold within 30 days.
- Your choice: you can ask us to remove your listing at any time.
Who we share it with
We don't sell personal data or pass it to marketers. We use service providers to host the site and its database and to handle email; they process data only on our instructions.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, or to object to how we use it. Email [email protected]. We'll reply within one month.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
